LEG 3: INDONESIA TO AFRICA

THE ENGINE BREAKS DOWN

A long uphill battle is waged to get Leg Three underway. Meet the new crew of the Wizard's Eye and learn about the plans to tackle the Indian Ocean.

CAUGHT IN THE BIGGEST STORM YET

The Wizard's Eye faces a big struggle and wild adventure attempting to sail into the Northeast monsoon. After having to turn back to shore in search of diesel the crew is held for days by the Indonesian Navy only to be released into one of the biggest storms the expedition has seen yet.

MONSOONS BRING US TO MACARONI WAVES

"With great risk comes great reward." After battling the Northeast Monsoon the Wizard's Eye pulls into Macaronis, one of the best waves on the planet and finds it with a deserted lineup and beautiful waves.

NEW CREW AND ONTO THE INDIAN OCEAN

One crew leaves and another arrives… The essence of what makes the Wizard’s Eye amazing is reflected upon and new plans are made to cross the Indian Ocean with fresh energy and a new crew.

THE BEAUTIFUL ASAHAN RIVER IN SE ASIA

The Asahan river is some of the most classic whitewater in Southeast Asia. Tyler and Rayno take a few days to paddle this classic section before setting off into the Indian Ocean.

OPEN OCEAN FROM SUMATRA TO SRI LANKA

Setting off into the open ocean once again the Wizard’s Eye tackles the Northern Indian Ocean from Sumatra to Sri Lanka.

THE LAST WHITEWATER OF SRI LANKA

The Wizard’s Eye arrives in Sri Lanka after 11 days at sea. This episode chronicles the journey throughout Sri Lanka and the discovery of some of the last whitewater in Sri Lanka being dammed for hydro electricity.

IN PIRATE WATERS HEADED TOWARDS SOMALIA

Continuing across the Northern Indian Ocean, Wizard’s Eye departs from Sri Lanka in search of the Seychelles some 2,000 miles away. The risk of pirates alongside light wind and heavy weather create an epic crossing.

SAILING TO MADAGASCAR

From the Seychelles to the island of Madagascar the Wizard's Eye Expedition ventures deep into the Southern Indian ocean in search of tall cliffs and raging whitewater.

IKOPA RIVER, MADAGASCAR

The Ikopa River is the crown jewel of big water paddling in Madagascar. Join the Wizard's Eye Expedition for an unforgettable descent of this river.

FAVORY RIVER, MADAGASCAR

In the South of Madagascar a remote river is emerging as a classic whitewater run on the island. The expedition bags a descent of this beautiful river en route to Tsaranoro where one of the crew is planning on wingsuiting from the top of the highest cliffs on the island.

FIRST DESCENT OF THE SANDRATSIO, MADAGASCAR

A big slog through the jungle brings us to the Sandratsio River. Planning out each portage, rapid, gorge and judging if it is runnable. Big rapids and some nice drops are had. An epic first descent on this impressive whitewater. Help from the locals makes this an incredible journey for the team.

FINAL PUSH TO SOUTH AFRICA

From deep in the heart of Madagascar the expedition's team gathers itself for a finial push to finish Leg Three in South Africa.

THE LAST PUNCH ROUND CAPE OF GOOD HOPE

Dropping deep into the Southern latitudes, the Wizard's Eye Expedition rounds the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, to finish Leg Three.
